Mage Control Systems Ltd is an SME based in East Kilbride. Our engineers are specialists in providing bespoke, high reliability control systems designed to operate in the harshest of environments. Recently, the company was majority shareholder acquired by Hydrogen Vehicle Systems Ltd. and thus, is currently entering a significant period of growth that requires it to hire a number of engineers at all levels of experience (from entry/graduate to senior levels). Mage will continue to work on its diverse projects but will also work closely with HVS Ltd – a significant opportunity for Mage and its team members.


The company’s customised designs demonstrate a unique experience and knowledge in using predictive and adaptive control to achieve high power density functionality, coupled with smart sensing technology.


Central to the development of Mage’s tailored solutions, is its expertise in embedded control system design and instrumentation. By using well practiced cost engineering methods, our engineers provide optimal performance and value for customers. It is the essential and unusual capability to demonstrate a robust versatility and cross-discipline applicability of core products and services, across a range of sectors that makes Mage Control Systems Ltd unique.


Responsibilities and experience required


  • An undergraduate degree in a Software/Computing orientated subject
  • Experience in embedded programming - microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi, Arduino
  • Experience in programming in C or C++
  • Experience/knowledge of GIT and/or other version control
  • Knowledge of formal software development methods
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary technological team
  • Self-motivation to learn and develop skills
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills (written and verbal)


Qualifications


  • A degree in a Software/Computing orientated subject (Batchelor's or above)
