We are searching for a motivated and technically excellent Accounts Senior to support the company at a period of sustained growth.
The role will suit an ambitious individual who has worked within an accountancy practice for at least 4 years, is studying towards their CTA/ACA/ACCA and has experience preparing statutory accounts, Corporation Tax and VAT returns.
The office is easily accessible being located just a few minutes off the M5 and the role comes with a number of benefits.
Main Responsibilities
Delivering a high quality service to our clients on a wide range of accounting and taxation matters. More specifically, the responsibilities will include:
- Being responsible for your own portfolio of clients
- Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited liability partnerships and limited companies
- Preparing self-assessment tax returns for individuals, partnerships and trusts
- Preparing Corporation Tax returns for limited companies
- Preparing VAT returns for individuals, partnerships and limited companies
- Maintaining tax records for our clients and ensuring all accounts, tax returns and tax payments are submitted on time
- Dealing with client and HMRC enquiries
- Supporting the management team with any client advisory work
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required
- Has at least 4 years’ experience of working in a practice dealing with small businesses and is qualified to at least AAT Level 4 Diploma and/or ATT
- Has an interest in forging a career in taxation
- Experience in preparing accounts for limited companies and calculating tax liabilities
- Has a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office with excellent IT skills
- Has a high level of analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
- Is highly organised with a pro-active and common-sense approach
- Has integrity, discretion and understands the importance of confidentiality
- Is able to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative
- Someone with excellent communication skills who enjoys interacting with a wide portfolio of clients
Hours
28 to 35 hours per week between Monday and Friday.
