Junior Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Swavesey, Cambs

Hours: 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday (on-site)

Salary: up to £40k

Our client is a leading supplier of LED lighting and control. They are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Embedded Software Engineer to join their growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop embedded software solutions for our products, emphasizing "Design for Test" methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, test engineers, and product managers, to define test requirements and develop test strategies.
  • Design and implement tools and scripts to enable efficient testing throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of software development processes and practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in embedded software development, with a strong understanding of Python, C, and C++.
  • Experience with embedded systems development tools and environments, including debuggers and compilers for ARM or PIC platforms.
  • Familiarity with hardware/software interfaces and communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify areas for investigation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools is a plus.
