About the Role: This is a fantastic opportunity for a results-driven Project Manager with experience in Retail Construction who is looking to take the next step in their career with a leading international retailer. Reporting to a UK Director, the successful candidate will become a key member of the Construction team, managing various development projects including new store openings, extensions, relocations, modernisations, and overseeing the ongoing maintenance of our existing property portfolio.


You will be responsible for ensuring all projects are completed within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves conducting assessment surveys, leading on-site meetings, negotiating with contractors, coordinating with UK and European teams, and preparing tender documents. The position is based at our Head Office, with regular travel across the UK.


Work Schedule:

  • 2/3 days in the office
  • 2/3 days on the road for inspections or site meetings


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in negotiating with landlords to secure the best value and highest specifications for properties.
  • Collaborate with shop fit-out designers and retail operations to develop designs for new shop-fits.
  • Obtain tenders and quotes for development, refurbishment, and maintenance activities.
  • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring all activities meet schedule and cost requirements.
  • Manage external contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to brand fit-out standards and are compliant with relevant legislation.
  • Maintain comprehensive project records and ensure all work complies with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Authorize invoices in line with agreed quotations, resolving any discrepancies in collaboration with management.


Personal Characteristics:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Skilled in managing conflicting demands and resolving issues.
  • Self-motivated with a flexible approach to work-related matters.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in IT, including MS Office and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Possession of a Full UK Driving Licence.
