SoC Verification Engineer

Location: Cambridge or Manchester, UK


About The Team:

Join our dynamic FPGA Prototyping verification team, an integral part of our Solutions Engineering group. We are a dedicated team of engineers focused on providing a robust platform for building and testing software on advanced subsystems and System-on-Chips (SoCs). Our mission is to accelerate the development process by offering a versatile, high-performance prototyping environment that enables seamless software integration and validation across various market segments, including mobile, server, IoT, and automotive.


Job Description:

As a member of this team, you will primarily focus on driving the verification of SoC RTL designs modified for FPGA implementation. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining SoC verification testbenches, integrating third-party VIPs, writing test cases in C, reusing C test cases from the internal IP/SoC frontend team, creating test plans, and developing automation tools using scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and Shell.


Responsibilities:

  • Implement and execute verification strategies to ensure thorough testing of assigned SoC modules.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, architects, and other verification engineers to understand design requirements and plan verification activities.
  • Communicate verification progress, issues, and results effectively to stakeholders through excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Automate test cases and regression suites to enhance verification efficiency and coverage.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Understanding of verification flows, hardware description languages (HDLs), and verification languages such as SystemVerilog and Verilog.
  • Good grasp of digital design fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with computer architecture.
  • Proficiency in C programming and automation experience with Tcl, Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.


Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of SoC verification flows and strategies.
  • Experience with ARM-based designs and/or ARM system architectures.
  • Familiarity with verification methodologies such as UVM/OVM.
  • Knowledge of AMBA, PCIe, and CXL is a plus.
