Network Monitoring Specialist ? 6-month contract ? Fully Remote

My client is seeking a skilled Network Monitoring Specialist to take ownership of their monitoring platforms (SolarWinds) and build effective dashboards to enhance visibility across their expanding network.

This role is critical in ensuring that WAN links between data centres and the internet remain robust, reliable, and free from latency issues.

Key Skills and Experience required from the Network Monitoring Specialist:



Proven experience with network monitoring platforms, specifically SolarWinds and PRTG.
Strong understanding of WAN infrastructure, data centre links, and internet connectivity.
Ability to design and customise dashboards for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in optimising and tailoring SolarWinds environments to suit customer needs.
Solid troubleshooting and performance analysis skills to pre-empt and resolve latency issues.
Comfortable leading from discovery/build through to maturity and long-term improvements.
Any experience with the following would be beneficial: Cisco, Palo Alto, ClearPass, Aruba, Nexus and Fortinet.



Key Responsibilities of the Network Monitoring Specialist:



Lead the discovery and build phase of network monitoring dashboards, with a focus on WAN links between data centres and internet connectivity.
Configure, optimise, and tailor the customer?s SolarWinds environment for maximum effectiveness.
Documentation to improve monitoring platform moving forward
Work with SolarWinds and PRTG monitoring tools to improve visibility and reporting.
Ensure network performance and proactively identify and resolve potential latency issues as the network expands.
Mature the use of monitoring tools and help embed them into daily operational processes.
Provide recommendations and roadmap improvements for monitoring platforms and tools to support future scalability.



The Network Monitoring Specialist can work fully remote for the duration of the contract.
