Staircase French Polisher - About the role:

As a skilled French Polisher, you are expected to polish and finish bespoke products to a high standard. This role will be primarily site-based, so the successful applicant must be prepared to travel and stay overnight through the week, and liaise directly with customers across the UK. At times there may not be any work that needs carrying out on site, when this occurs suitable alternative work will be found for you at our workshop in Llantarnam.

Duties:

As a skilled French Polisher, you will be expected to take ownership of:

  • Prepping work for finishing.
  • Mixing Lacquers, Stains and Paints to achieve the desired finishes.
  • Applying P/U Lacquers, Stains and Paints
  • Maintaining equipment and supplies required for the role.
  • Applying a high quality, even finish to products that have been fitted on site.

The successful applicant should be able to:

  • Work autonomously and use own initiative
  • Complete work to tight schedules and deadlines
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance to Health and Safety at Work Regulations and Codes of Practice
  • Wear protective clothing as supplied and attend all training when requested.
  • Carry out any other duties within the business as may be allocated from time to time.

Staircase French Polisher - Person specification:

Required:

  • The successful applicant will be experienced in Finishing and French Polishing (ideally with experience involving staircases)
  • Experience of working on building sites.
  • Up-to-date and clean driving licence

Desired:

  • Any applicable qualifications/certifications
  • First Aid Training
  • Trade Relevant CSCS Card
