What you'll do

Cloud platforms have become crucial to the delivery of Sky’s telecoms network services. We are looking for a Technical Lead for the delivery these cloud platforms both on-premises (VMWare / Openstack) and in Public Cloud (AWS, GCP). The lead will work closely with application / service owners and project managers to support application deployment to these environments.

  • Work with cloud platform owners to understand and detail orchestration requirements and ensure alignment of tooling across platforms.
  • Lead development of cloud orchestration processes and tooling.
  • Integrate cloud orchestration with Sky’s wider network automation and inventory tools.
  • Support platform testing including preparation of test plans and tooling.
  • Cloud Platform domain expert, acting as technical design authority and point of escalation for operational issues.
  • Support engagement of suppliers by defining technical scope of work and supporting governance of supplier results, deployment, commissioning, and integration of cloud applications.
What you'll bring
  • Familiarity with core cloud concepts - Virtualisation, Kubernetes, SDN, Experience of application deployment into Public Cloud (AWS / GCP / Azure). Networking and Security Specialisations an advantage.
  • Experience with Nokia Cloud stack (CBIS, CBAM, Nuage, FSS, NCOM, NCD), VMWare private cloud and/or Openstack deployments an advantage.
  • Infrastructure as code workflows e.g. Terraform, Ansible.
  • CI/CD tooling e.g. GIT, Jenkins, scripting (Python, Shell scripting)
  • Linux sys-admin (CentOS, RHEL)
  • Observability tools: ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Prometheus, Grafana.
