ProBuild ITM is a leading supplier of high-quality building materials, dedicated to delivering exceptional products and services to our customers. With the continued growth and opportunity in our business, we are now seeking to onboard a dynamic and results-driven General Manager of Operations to join the team at our Rolleston site.

The General Manager of Operations will be responsible for the daily operations of our business, ensuring efficient and effective processes across all departments. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in operations management, supply chain logistics and team leadership. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, enhance productivity and contribute to the company’s growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leading the operations team
  2. Identify and implement operational improvements
  3. Developing team on product knowledge and service levels
  4. Drive a high standard of customer service and satisfaction
  5. Build and maintain solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  6. Lead, coach and develop staff to ensure a motivated and high-performance culture
  7. Managing customer pricing, in conjunction with our sales team
  8. Growing retail and farm building sales
  9. Procurement and inventory management
  10. Arranging credits with suppliers e.g. incorrect invoicing, printing errors, damaged goods, supplying incorrect items
  11. Head our Health and Safety committee, ensuring branch adherence to all regulatory and company policies, and manage operational risks
  12. Ensuring our IT systems are running efficiently in conjunction with our IT service provider

Requirements:

  • A preference for Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations and Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • Previous experience in a management role, preferably in branch operations
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • A strong understanding of customer service principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office

This is a full-time position and the working hours will be approximately 42.5 hours per week.
