ENERGY & INFRASTRUCTURE AD – M&A


The Opportunity

My Investment Banking client is seeking an AD/VP to join their Energy & Infrastructure team in their London office. This person will play an integral role in the execution of the Firm’s full offering of financial advisory services to assist their clients in achieving their financial and strategic goals.

Their clients are companies in the Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sectors, as well as the PE Houses and Infrastructure funds that invest in these sectors.

You will manage deal teams for ECM and Mergers & Acquisitions transactions in the sector.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support engagement teams in equity financing, sell-side, buy-side and general advisory M&A engagements, within the Energy sector team
  • Oversee due diligence
  • Lead preparation of offering documentation and materials
  • Assist in the execution of public equity financing transactions
  • Work with senior investment bankers in transactions’ execution
  • Review valuation models including project finance, discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout, trading comparables and transaction comparables.
  • Review presentation materials for use in client meetings, covering topics such as strategic alternatives, capital markets activity and general corporate finance.
  • Participate in all stages of transaction executions, from the pitch phase through to closing.


Qualifications:

  • ACA qualification is essential
  • c5 years’ post qualification experience in Lead Advisory/M&A in an Energy or related team, at a Big 4 firm or investment bank
  • Sector knowledge of Energy (oil & gas or Renewables) or related areas preferred
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and communication skills
  • Deep understanding of financial statements and valuation techniques
  • Good financial modelling (DCF, merger models) preferred
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Ideal candidates will have the ability to adapt, manage projects independently, and assume a high level of responsibility as a productive member of the team
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and function within a team
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good understanding of financial data sources (Capital IQ and Bloomberg)
