We are committed to providing innovative health solutions across various fields including orthopaedics and lymphoedema.Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Orthotist to join our London-based Thuasne clinical and technical team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the clinical prescription, fitting and fabrication of custom orthoses, with a strong blend of traditional workshop skills and an understanding of digital CAD/CAM modification capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of hands-on patient care and modern digital workflows to deliver high-quality, patient-centred orthotic solutions.Key Responsibilities:Ø Carry out digital clinical assessments, gait analysis, and patient consultations to determine appropriate orthotic prescriptions.Ø Advise on a wide range of custom and prefabricated orthotic devices (e.g. AFOs, KAFOs, spinal orthoses).Ø Translate clinical prescriptions into functional designs, selecting appropriate materials and fabrication methods.Ø Perform manual fabrication and adjustments using workshop tools and techniques (e.g., vacuum forming, grinding, alignment).Ø Use CAD software for digital modification of scans and 3D model preparation.Ø Collaborate with technicians, clinicians, and external manufacturers to ensure accurate device production and delivery.Ø Maintain up-to-date patient records, prescription notes, and follow-up documentation in compliance with HCPC and NHS standards.Ø Support innovation in orthotic design and contribute to continuous improvement of fabrication workflows.Essential Requirements:Ø BSc (Hons) in Prosthetics & Orthotics or equivalent recognised qualification.Ø Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Orthotist.Ø Minimum of 2 years’ experience in clinical orthotic prescription and device fabrication.Ø Proficiency in workshop-based orthotic manufacture and finishing techniques.Ø Solid understanding of biomechanics and orthotic material properties.Ø Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.Ø Interest in R&D, innovation, and academic collaboration.Desirable:Ø  Experience in CAD/CAM software for orthotic design and digital modification.Ø  Experience with 3D scanning, 3D printing, and CNC milling orthotics.                Ø  Familiarity with NHS orthotic pathways and outcome measures.Benefits:Competitive salary (based on experience)Training and CPD opportunities (digital fabrication, clinical specialisms)Work with the latest in orthotic technologies and materialsSupportive multidisciplinary team and central London R&D location.Interested candidates are invited to send their CV’s to David.Williams@Thuasne.co.uk
