Our client based in Cumbria is on the lookout for a Software Engineer where you will be responsible for the full cycle development of practical, innovative, and cost-effective software and firmware for LED lighting systems.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Contributes to the output of the design team through the progress of design projects, regularly reporting design status, technical issues, schedule and cost to the management and project teams

  • Work in accordance with design milestones to guarantee specifications are met and projects can progress on time to the next stage
  • Review software design processes identifying areas of improvement, highlighting and implementing actions in order to promote maximum efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Monitor and maintain departmental documentation systems in accordance with design and project management processes, agreed procedures and company standards.
  • Provide support to other software engineers in the creation and maintenance of software documentation

The following skills and experience will be beneficial for this role:

  • Microcontroller experience (16Bit & 8 Bit)
  • MISRA C safety Critical
  • Verification/Debugging knowledge (writing Test scripts, Low level Unit testing and Integration testing)
  • Producing formal documentation in accordance with DO-178C and other standards
  • Extensive knowledge of 8 and 16bit microprocessors/microcontrollers in including PIC18 and DSPIC
  • Aerospace Standards DO-178C or Automotive standards, LDRA (TBrun) will be desirable but beneficial if you have this
