About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to join a leading Space company to work on their space and satellite missions. You will make a real impact on the next generation of computing platforms within the space industry.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the entire software processes for satellite communications and signal processing systems.
  • Define the system designs and software architectures
  • Work closely alongside system engineers to integrate hardware and software and communication systems.
  • Provide guidance and mentor the junior team members
  • Conduct testing, validation, and verification of software for space environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues.


Required Experience:

  • Relevant degree eg. Computer Science / Software Engineering
  • 5+ years experience in embedded systems software development
  • Industry experience in either satellite communications
  • Skilled in C/C++ programming.
  • Experience with RTOS, SDRs, and FPGA programming.
  • Familiar with space industry standards
  • Experience with embedded Linux user-space
  • Experienced in software stack and Yocto/Buildroot.


Bonus experience:

  • Experience with signal processing algorithms and RF frontend development.
  • Familiarity with 5G waveform, DVB-S2X, CCSDS modems, DPDK, and VPP L2/L3 processing.
  • ARM processor architectures.
  • Experience with new board bring-up and BSP development.
  • Xilinx toolchains
  • Linux Kernel software development.
