DescriptionSave the Children International has an exciting opportunity for a Global Internal Communications Officerto join our global team.Team and Job PurposeThe Global Internal Communications Unit delivers compelling internal communications that engages and celebrates our people to connect them with our mission to improve childrens lives worldwide and to inspire them to further the impact of our organisation both globally and locally.Focused on socialising our Global Strategy elevating examples of our impact updating on major humanitarian emergencies engaging and recognising our people connecting teams to leadership and managing crisis communications we partner with our Country Offices and Members to deliver strategic and reactive internal communicationsRole purposeThe Global Internal Communications Officer is responsible for supporting the Global Internal Communications Unit to deliver Save the Children Internationals internal communications plan and help engage our 25000 staff across 110 countries around the world. The role will be responsible for creating and delivering internal communications content and stories as well as manage our internal communications channels e.g. our weekly global newsletter.The Global Internal Communications Officer will also support and utilise tools to ensure our internal communications and events are interactive and engaging in our remote-first working environment. The post holder works collaboratively with communications strategy and HR teams as well the wider CEOs office team where this unit sits.This role will be based in a small Global Internal Communications unit which forms part of our wider CEO Office. This unit is responsible for developing and delivering simple informative and inspiring communications that will make our staff feel valued motivated and proud to work as part of our global movement. It is also responsible for supporting senior leadership (including the CEO) to engage inspire and build trust among staff and key stakeholders across the Save the Children movement.Job Title: Global Internal Communications OfficerReports To: Leadership and Internal Communications LeadWork Pattern: Hybrid/Remote with flexible working options availableContract Length: PermanentGrade:P1Location: Any approved Save the Children International office location. For candidates based in the UK we can offer circa 30000 per annum.Right to Work: The successful candidate must possess the unrestricted right to work in their current or preferred location for the duration of employment.Language Requirements:English (French Arabic or Spanish desired)Principal AccountabilitiesSupport the delivery of Save the Children Internationals global internal and leadership communications strategy to engage and inspire our 25000 staff around the worldCreate and deliver internal communications content and stories writing stories case studies shout outs for use on our internal channels working closely with colleagues across our Global Teams and Country OfficesDiscover and develop inspiring new content and ensure we are communicating clearly concisely and consistently across our internal channelsUtilise new tools for hybrid and virtual internal events to ensure theyre interactive and engaging and support the delivery of internal staff meetingsProduce high-quality written and video internal communications materials to inspire and engage staff (e.g. infographics presentation materials Sharepoint site pages) using our Save the Children branding guidance and toolsTrack key metrics for our internal communications tools and produce regular reports identifying areas for improvementSupport the Leadership and Internal Communications Lead with producing leadership updates to Save the Childrens Board and Member organisationsExperience and SkillsEssentialExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English to motivate influence and negotiate both internally and externallyExperience working in internal communicationsExperience in developing and managing communications content and tools and making best use of contentDemonstrated success in delivering high-quality communications products or tools targeting a diverse range of audiencesCultural sensitivity with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing and negotiationA proven ability to distil large amounts of information for diverse audiencesExceptional planning and organisational skills with an ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple demands and competing priorities while maintaining high quality standardsSignificant ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt work plans flexibly depending on requirementsGreat ability to work as part of a team within a networked structure and to maintain good working relationships with colleagues across functional and geographical boundariesInnovative thinker enjoys developing and testing new ideas and ways of addressing issues or driving engagementAbility to create and edit basic internal communications videos aligned to Save the Children branding (e.g. vlogs podcasts).Demonstrated commitment to Save the Childrens mission and valuesDesirableFrench Arabic Spanish language skills would be an advantage.Experience editing and publishing Sharepoint site contentProficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or other video editing softwareExperience working in a global organisationEducation and QualificationsEssentialInternal communications experience.Working at Save the ChildrenInternationalSave the Childrenis the worlds leading organisation for children employing save childrens lives.
