Job Title: Quality Manager – Welding & ISO Expertise

Location: Wakefield


Are you a skilled Quality Manager with expertise in welding, ISO standards, and driving quality process improvements?


If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to make a significant impact within a growing fabrication and welding company. We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to lead a dedicated team, including welding inspectors and quality engineers.


In this role, you will oversee and enhance quality processes, manage ISO 9001 standards, and play a pivotal role in achieving ISO 14001 accreditation. With a hands-on approach, you'll collaborate closely with shop-floor teams and various departments to foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring both high-quality standards and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:


Leadership & Team Management:


  • Lead, mentor, and develop Quality Engineers and Welding Inspectors.
  • Foster a collaborative environment to address quality issues using tools like RCA, 8D, 5Ys, ITPs, and SOP creation.
  • Conduct regular team reviews, offering constructive feedback to drive performance.


Quality Assurance:


  • Maintain and evolve ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
  • Lead customer action plans, audits, and systematic problem-solving initiatives.
  • Develop and manage supplier quality assurance systems.


Process Improvement:


  • Utilize problem-solving tools to prevent recurring issues and improve processes.
  • Develop and report on KPIs to track trends and drive improvements.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts across welding and manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute to the company’s growth by offering strategic input.


Ideal Candidate:


  • Proven expertise in welding.
  • Strong background in managing ISO certifications and systems: 1090, ISO9001 & ISO14001
  • Effective leadership skills with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • A hands-on, proactive approach to quality management.
