As a Swimming Instructor you will teach children and adults of all abilities, helping them build water confidence and improve their swimming techniques in a supportive environment. The Swimming Instructor will work within a friendly and professional leisure team, committed to providing high-quality swimming lessons for the community. DUTIES Your duties as the Swimming Instructor include: Deliver Engaging Lessons:Teach swimmers of all ages and abilities following the learn to swim programme Ensure Safety:Maintain a safe swimming environment at all times, adhering to safeguarding and health and safety policies Provide Encouragement:Motivate and support participants to achieve their swimming goals Monitor Progress:Assess swimmer development and provide constructive feedback to learners and parents Prepare Equipment:Set up and maintain swimming aids and teaching resources before and after sessions Promote Good Practice:Uphold high standards of professionalism and behaviour within the pool environment CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Qualified to SEQ Level 1 or Level 2 in Teaching Swimming (or STA equivalent) Previous experience teaching swimming to a range of ages and abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety practices within a leisure environment Friendly, patient and approachable attitude Flexible and reliable with good time management skills The organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
