About the Company: We are a dynamic and rapidly expanding niche law firm specialising in non-contentious legal services for multinational clients across sectors such as B2B Commercial, Technology, Construction & Engineering, and Facilities Management. Due to our continued growth and global engagement, we are seeking an ambitious, high-energy Commercial Paralegal with expertise in Construction Law to join our dedicated team.

About the Role: The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • We're seeking a Legal Technologist with a passion for merging law and technology. Whether your background is in law or tech (Computer Science, AI, or similar), this role offers a unique pathway to revolutionise legal processes through automation, AI, and client-centric solutions.
  • Manage Legal Documentation: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and construction-related agreements with precision and expertise.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Work seamlessly with internal teams and external counsels on a variety of legal matters, ensuring comprehensive support for our clients.
  • Possess Commercial Acumen: Be driven by ambition and possess a strong understanding of commercial and construction law principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Automate Legal Workflows: Streamline document review, contract analysis, and compliance checks using AI tools.
  • Optimise Client Interfaces: Improve UI/UX for client-facing dashboards and internal legal systems.
  • Integrate AI Solutions: Work with tools like AI prompts or custom NLP models to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate Cross-Team: Partner with lawyers, developers, and data specialists to build scalable solutions.
  • Legal Support: Provide robust legal support to various internal departments and external clients, focusing on construction and commercial law matters.
  • Documentation: Draft, review, and negotiate complex transactional and construction agreements, ensuring all documentation is thorough and compliant.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks and conflicts proactively to safeguard client interests.
  • Client Engagement: Engage daily with international clients and counterparts across the UK, Europe, the US, LATAM, and APAC regions, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with solicitors and external counsels to coordinate legal strategies and deliver comprehensive solutions for clients.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct detailed legal research and analysis to support case preparation and contract negotiations.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to client specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Background: Law degree (LLB/GDL/LPC) OR Computer Science/AI degree.
  • Familiarity with legal processes (e.g., contracts, due diligence) OR tech skills (Python, SQL, UI/UX tools like Figma).
  • Mindset: Curiosity about AI's role in law (e.g., predictive analytics, automated drafting). Keen to solve problems at the intersection of law and technology.
  • Legal Qualification: Qualified Paralegal with substantial experience in commercial and construction law. Paralegal certifications or equivalent are preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a commercial paralegal role within the construction sector, handling complex contracts and legal documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Ethical Standards: High integrity and ethical standards, with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and trust.
  • Independent Working: Ability to work independently in a remote or flexible setting, demonstrating strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ambition: A strong desire to lead initiatives and contribute to long-term, impactful projects within the firm.
