About the Role


We are looking to recruit an Operations Manager who will play a critical role in overseeing a diverse array of projects, which often encompass the planning, construction, implementation, and activation of civil, mechanical, and electrical infrastructure for emerging developments. This role sits within the high-voltage infrastructure management contractor and an Independent Connections Provider (ICP) division of the business. As the successful role holder, you will have full responsibility for ensuring projects are executed efficiently, punctually, and within financial constraints, all while adhering to the mandatory health, safety, environmental, and quality benchmarks.




Responsibilities


  • Management of a portfolio of ICP connections and balance of plant projects from 33-132KV from contract negotiation to execution and delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Heads of Tendering, Operations, and Commercials to assess new contract awards and allocate projects to appropriate portfolios based on resources, location, and project type.
  • Strategically minimise construction expenditure without compromising on quality, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency enhancement.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Drive continuous process improvements and innovation to maintain competitiveness in the market.
  • Ensure operational sign-off at tender stages within your portfolio, providing expertise and oversight.
  • Manage subcontractor contracts meticulously, ensuring compliance with milestones and contractual obligations.




Required Skills


  • Experience in grid connections or the HV industry
  • Track record of interfacing with clients and key stakeholders on projects
  • Strong understanding of budget and cashflow management
  • Confidence with Project Programming Software and the MS Office suite
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication, interpersonal and management skills
  • Highly organised, with the ability to problem solve, act initiative and make decisions under pressure
