Trainee Mechanical Estimator

Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems and components. * Obtain competitive and accurate quotations from mechanical specialists. * Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bid estimates. * Gather, analyse, and adjust data related to labour, materials, equipment, and other factors affecting cost estimates. * Carry out estimates using electronic packages. * Learn the process of tender reviews and resolve any identified issues. * Maintain organized records of all estimates, project proposals, and other relevant documents. * Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and summaries for review by senior estimators and management. * Support communication with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and verify scope inclusions. * Provide ongoing support and updates to senior estimators throughout the bidding and project development process. * Previous experience with HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems is preferred. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Proactive and eager to learn with a positive attitude. * Ability to understand BOQs and drawings for take-offs. * Good knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, and Outlook). * Ability to liaise and converse with clients in a professional manner. * Full UK driver’s license. * A minimum of five GCSEs at Grade 9/A* to 4/C, including Maths, English Language, and ICT; 1 A Level, or 2 AS Levels (40 UCAS points), or an equivalent qualification such as Level 3 BTEC National in a relevant Construction or Engineering subject
