Join us as a Software Engineer at our Portsmouth site where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.The RoleAs a Software Engineer you will be responsible for delivering larger complex software tasks as directed to support the delivery of projects across software in support of the Naval Combat Systems Integration Support Service.Day-to-day youll be undertaking tasks of increasing complexity requiring the ability to consider the problem deriving a range of potential solutions deciding on the best course of action.Your responsibilities will include:Software Design & Development of complex projectsFollowing corporate software development processesAdhering to the relevant coding standards whilst investigating and fixing software defectsParticipating in code reviews and producing user documentationCommunicating with the immediate team and the wider enterpriseContributing to a positive and inclusive team environmentEssential experience of the Software Engineer:A strong background with relevant software development experienceStrong Core experience in C#/ .NETPrevious experience in Frontend development using React or TypescriptHaving a working knowledge of messaging/queuing systems e.g Kafka RabbitMQEssential qualifications for the Software Engineer:Degree level qualification or equivalent experienceThis role is 37 hours per week based at PTP Portsmouth. Hybrid working patterns are available.Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) is one of QinetiQs key facilities focusing on advanced technology development and engineering services.
