Senior Payroll Officer Morgan Hunt is working with a Housing Association in Staffordshire who are looking at recruiting a Senior Payroll Officer. This is a 3 month contract role paying up to £20 p/hour.

For this role you will be required to travel to the office once a week.Key Responsibilities of the Senior Payroll Officer:

  • Ensure accurate payroll processing, adjustments, documentation dispatch, expense management, statutory compliance, and employee query resolution; handle third-party payments, Auto Enrolment, year-end returns, salary increases, and P11d production.
  • Calculate, process, and reconcile annual pay reviews; review and implement employee benefits procedures; ensure NMW compliance; improve pension scheme processes; test and implement HR and Payroll System upgrades.
  • Update payroll procedures annually; support audit processes; ensure compliance with payroll and pension legislation; maintain current knowledge of legislation; assist with group communications.
  • Maintain payroll system parameters; support and test system upgrades; report and resolve system issues promptly.
  • Accurately code, authorise, and process employee expense claims; ensure accurate documentation and reconciliation of payments to HMRC, pension bodies, and other deductions.

Previous Skills and Experience of the Senior Payroll Officer:

  • Experience of working in the housing sector
  • End to end payroll, from start to finish.
  • CIPP for relevant payroll qualifications or qualified by experience.
  • Experience of working within a project team and playing a key role within the project delivery
  • Civica HR and Payroll system is ideal.
