Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in earthworks and civil engineering projects? We’re representing a leading civil engineering contractor delivering large-scale earthworks, drainage, highways, and infrastructure schemes across the North East and Yorkshire. This is a long-term opportunity for a commercially astute professional who thrives on taking ownership of projects — managing commercial strategy from tender through completion, safeguarding value, and driving cost efficiency throughout the delivery process. Key Responsibilities * Lead the full commercial and contractual management of multiple earthworks and civil engineering projects * Oversee cost forecasting, valuations, change management, CVRs, and final accounts * Manage subcontract procurement, payments, and performance reviews * Ensure compliance with both NEC3/NEC4 and JCT forms of contract, as well as internal governance and reporting standards * Drive commercial best practice, mentoring junior QS staff and ensuring accuracy in reporting * Provide input into tendering, estimating, and value engineering during pre-construction phases * Liaise directly with project managers and clients to maintain strong commercial relationships Requirements * Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor (or experienced QS ready to step up) * Strong track record delivering earthworks or bulk excava...
