An exciting opportunity has arisen for a recently qualified accountant to join a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm as a Legal Entity Controller. This role offers the chance to take complete ownership of financial reporting and monitoring across a wide range of legal entities. The successful candidate will develop an in-depth understanding of these entities, their business strategies, products and associated technical accounting and disclosure requirements. This is an ideal role for a collaborative individual with strong ethics, attention to detail and a keen interest in providing high-quality reporting and analysis.

What you'll do:
As a Legal Entity Controller, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding the firm's assets. Your role will involve taking complete ownership of the financial reporting and monitoring across a wide range of legal entities. You will be instrumental in preparing, analysing and presenting financial reports to senior management, directors, and other key stakeholders predominantly under IFRS/US GAAP. Your ability to resolve complex technical accounting issues will be crucial in this role. You will also facilitate the quarterly consolidated reporting process while coordinating with multiple teams across the firm globally. Your proactive approach towards improving workflows, technology, and integrity of reporting information will be highly valued.
- Preparation, analysis and presentation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting to senior management, directors, and other key stakeholders
- Resolution of complex technical accounting issues and disclosure requirements
- Facilitation of the quarterly consolidated reporting with regular interaction with Finance teams globally
- Coordination with multiple teams across the firm in a collaborative and problem-solving capacity
- Proactive improvement of workflows, technology, and integrity of reporting information
- Development and evolution of the reporting framework to ensure adequate financial management oversight
- Participation in various working groups and forums to ensure adequate oversight from a legal entity control perspective
- Involvement in a broad range of cross-divisional projects and initiatives
What you bring:
As our new Legal Entity Controller, you will bring a wealth of recently acquired accounting knowledge and skills to our team. Your experience in preparing audited financial statements under IFRS will be highly valued. You have a proven track record of improving processes and adding value to clients/stakeholders. Your strong analytical skills and aptitude for problem-solving will be crucial in this role. You are always up-to-date with emerging business, economic, and market trends. Your personal drive and motivation enable you to handle multiple tasks effectively. You have excellent interpersonal skills and are able to build trusting, long-term relationships with clients.
- Recently qualified accountant (0-2 yrs)
- CA or equivalent qualification
- Demonstrable technical accounting knowledge
- Experience in preparation of audited financial statements under IFRS is an advantage
- Track record of improving processes and adding value to clients/stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for problem solving
- Functional expertise with emerging business, economic, and market trends
- Personal drive and motivation with the ability to handle multiple tasks
