IAM Architect role summary:

Our client is an enterprise business in the Utilities industry. They are looking for an Identity and Access Management (IAM) Architect to design and guide the implementation of IAM solutions across their UK business. This role involves creating architectural frameworks for IAM, ensuring they support the overarching IDAM framework and align with business objectives and security requirements.

IAM Architect Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret strategic direction into tangible work packages to enable our internal product team (e.g. in End user compute) to deliver solutions (e.g. Azure Identity Protection) that meet their needs
  • Work with customers in multiple business units to understand and balance conflicting priorities and constraints
  • Work with technical stakeholders to deliver IDAM solutions in an order that both: meets business needs and makes technical sense
  • Lead solutions options assessments, in collaboration with the IAM SME, to specify new solutions that meet our business needs and are maintainable
  • Work closely with the IAM SME to ensure the architectural designs support the IDAM processes, including movers and leavers, access reviews, and security requirements
  • Support procurement exercises for IDAM solutions (e.g. PAM and IGA)
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and the IDAM SMEs to elaborate our IDAM Strategies and Frameworks and use that to inform future direction
  • Support tactical initiatives, such as Active Directory and Group Policy health checks, by identifying root causes and proposing (architectural) improvements.
  • Evangelise security’s role in IDAM and support our journey towards identity-first zero trust and a single digital identity.

IAM Key Requirements and Experience:

  • Proactive approach and ability to lead and shape complex deliveries in collaboration with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Proven experience as an IAM Architect, with a deep understanding of identity and access management principles and technologies.
  • Strong architectural and design skills, with the ability to develop scalable and secure IDAM solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset, capable of anticipating future needs and trends in IDAM
  • Experience of supporting IDAM-related procurement exercises and implementations
