Job Description:

As a Data Engineer specialising in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) at GREENTH, you will be among the first core members of our technical team. Your role will be instrumental in laying the foundation of our data infrastructure and driving the technical direction of our company. You will collaborate closely with our small but passionate team, helping to build scalable and efficient data systems that will support our ambitious goals in the energy sector.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and Build: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using GCP technologies, setting the foundation for our data infrastructure.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with the founding team and other key stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.
  • Innovate: Take ownership of our data warehousing solutions, ensuring they are optimised for performance, security, and scalability.
  • Optimise: Continuously improve our data storage, retrieval, and processing capabilities to support rapid growth and evolving business needs.
  • Lead: Develop and maintain data models and schemas, driving best practices in data governance, including data quality, lineage, and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot: Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues with data pipelines and infrastructure.
  • Stay Ahead: Keep up with the latest GCP offerings and data engineering best practices, helping to ensure our technology stack remains cutting-edge.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and managing data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data warehousing solutions like BigQuery.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java for data processing tasks.
  • Experience with GCP services such as Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Dataproc.
  • Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a startup environment.
