Deskside Engineer

Job Title: Deskside Engineer Salary: £30,000Location: Lytham St AnnesReports to: Team Leader/Team Manager/Service Delivery ManagerWorking Hours: 37.5 hours per weekStatus: Permanent Objective: Provide hardware and software support, both remotely and deskside on IT products within the required Service Level Agreement (SLA). To meet our customer needs and a diverse working environment, the role calls for a degree of flexibility and an expectation that the core working hours are spent on customer sites.Responsibilities:To replace desktops, laptops and monitors as like for like and enabling a quick resolution with minimum inconvenience to the end userPerform Break fix on all desktop equipmentTo perform IMAC activitiesComplete all allocated calls and maintain regular contact with call schedulerTo diagnose problems accurately using all the available resources and technical knowledgeTo provide timely, quality solution keeping the customer updated and escalating if requiredRefer to relevant procedures to perform roleEnsure administration is satisfactory and up to dateTo carry out other tasks as requested by Team LeaderBe vigilant for possible fraudulent activity and if necessary, raise a security incident report using the template accessible via the corporate Intranet.Periodically review Allvotec Security Policies – centrally hosted on the Intranet - to ensure full compliance with current legal, regulatory and company requirements.Carry out any ‘ad hoc’ assignments as and when required.To be compliant with health and safety company policy and legislation.Knowledge, Skills:Customer liaison skillsInterpretation of data & actionsDecision makingWindows OS literate Basic knowledge of Server OSBasic hardware knowledge, Laptop Keyboards, Memory, Hard drives Experience with Active Directory (not essential)Experience with network fault troubleshootingExperience with Network builds Experience with network printer installs and configurationExperience with Microsoft applications in particular Office Suite, Visio/Project Experience with VPN and remote work on machinesExperience with IPad and Windows TabletsGood troubleshooting skillsExperience Required: IT engineering experience – 2 yearsA good understanding of analytical troubleshootingA good understanding of networks and windows Operating systemsMust be able to diagnose and repair desktops and laptopsDesktop and laptop accreditation desirableKnowledge of specific customer softwareBehaviours:Team playerCo-operative/flexiblePays Attention to detailCan work under pressureTact & diplomacyGood timekeepingGood Communication skillsCustomer Care SkillsAdhere to health & safety proceduresAt Lucid, we celebrate difference and value diverse perspectives, underpinned by our values ‘Honesty, Integrity and Pragmatism’.
