The GIS Manager will configure Siemens' Geospatial Information System (Esri ArcGIS), ensuring the tool is compliant to Client's requirements. The Siemens' ArcGIS solution will also need to be integrated with the visualisation suite as well as other tools in Siemens' CDE, including our Asset Information System (EMT) and our EDMS and CAD Management System (ProjectWise). To meet our contract requirements, the GIS manager will provide GIS deliverables, which have been verified and validated, prior to issuing to the Client or other tools in the CDE.
The GIS Manager will develop procedures, workflows and process documents in response to the Client's and project team's GIS requirements on the contracts. The GIS Manager will also support the project teams by providing the relevant development and training required when using ArcGIS for their role.
You'll make an impact by
- Developing processes, procedures and plans and a business GIS Strategy while aligning with key Client standards
- Providing GIS deliverables for projects across the business
- Providing technical advice, presentations, and training for project/tender Client, Subcontractors and Siemens RI UK project/tender teams
- Ensuring all procedures and tools are deployed consistently across the project/tender by conducting regular project and supply chain partner audits
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to; Siemens RI UK BIM Lead, Digitalisation Leads, Client counterparts, key subcontractors, internal engineering mangers, IT applications teams, etc.
- Having technical understanding of following software as a minimum; Esri ArcGIS
- Participate in and initiate technical discussions to develop solutions
Your success will be grounded by
- Having relevant Professional Qualifications to degree or equivalent level, or equivalent industry experience
- Having knowledge in current CAD/GIS/BIM standards of key Clients and industry governing bodies
- Having experience in management of GIS toolsets, including implementation, UAT, scope setting for add-ons and new features
- Significant experience of GIS implementation on large railway schemes in the UK
- Being commercially aware - able to forecast and manage resource utilisation and costs.
- Being supportive of a consistent companywide approach to continuous improvement.
- Having strong leadership qualities including personal drive, persuasive communication skills, enthusiasm and support for company goals.
- Being a strong and effective communicator at all levels within the Business - and in front of new and existing customers - both internal and external.
