We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Minworth/Birmingham. The Quality Engineer will maintain the production process as efficiently and effectively as possible, whilst still ensuing that the finished products are safe, dependable, and satisfy customer expectations.


Shift Pattern: Please be aware this role is on a permanent PM shift 3pm-11pm


How you will contribute

  • Provide input on processes from a quality perspective and assist in the implementation of new processes
  • Develop and design corrective actions for problems and establish a problem-solving technique to reduce process variation
  • Gather data from customers and internal sources as input for problem-solving and communicate/report to appropriate personnel
  • Support operational teams to ensure prompt and robust actions are initiated
  • Champion lean engineering goals and implement and maintain a lean culture within the organization
  • Administer all projects and documentation (quality system) related to assigned processes/launches
  • Maintain and update the Quality System in line with ISO 9001 requirements and oversee any required actions
  • Mentor and support the organisation on quality-related tools such as problem-solving tools, risk management, and continuous improvement


What you will bring

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role is essential.
  • A background in the automotive or logistics industry is preferred.
  • ISO 9001 or 16949 Auditor training and qualification is essential.
  • Experience in auditing is preferred.
  • Risk management using tools such as FMEA.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ideally educated to degree level in a relevant field.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience would be beneficial.
