Oliver Sanderson is engaged with a leading national Freight Business to source a visionary 4PL Director to shape and lead the sourcing, procurement, and pricing activities for their logistics partner operations. The 4PL Director will define functional strategies, exceed quality standards, and use market intelligence to guide the organisation’s future direction. This role is key to scaling their business and aligning their network with their ambitious goals.
Key areas of focus:
- Crafting and implementing strategies that align with overall business objectives.
- Defining the functional and operational strategy for the targeted model.
- Leading procurement and tactical initiatives to deliver exceptional service.
- Developing and refining processes to ensure operational excellence.
- Analysing business and market trends to anticipate and adapt to industry shifts.
- Building and managing strategic supplier relationships to execute our business strategy effectively.
Our client is looking for a strategic and analytical leader with extensive knowledge of the supply chain and transport industries. You will have proven experience in transport procurement within a 4PL environment and demonstrate advanced skills in Excel. Proficiency in R software is a bonus. You will be adept at analysing large datasets to extract actionable insights and have a creative approach to problem-solving, enabling you to design solutions for operational and planning challenges. Strong relationship-building skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external customers. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, thinks strategically to drive the business forward, and is passionate about transforming the logistics industry.
