Fitness InstructorPOSITION PURPOSEResponsible for all aspects of the Fitness centre working in a supportive role to the Spa Management team in driving key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to Spa membership, guest satisfaction, operating requirements, marketing and promotions, VIP guest visits, associate relations and department training. The Fitness Instructor will play a key role in exceeding guest expectations through a programme of continuously improving all standards within the Spa. They will be responsible for revenue generation through up-selling of Membership, personal training and cross sales to other areas in the Spa & Resort.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for achieving membership and sales targets as set by the Spa Manager. Encouraging clients to return to the spa by recommending ongoing fitness programmes and personal training sessions based upon achieving objectives taking into account their needs and goals and monitoring their progress on a regular basis.
- Conduct fitness assessments, carrying out an in-depth consultation with each client, ensuring medical history and concerns are identified.
- Day to day responsibility for maintaining equipment, cleanliness and hygiene of the premises and ensuring adequate levels of guest supplies in the fitness area. Ensuring that the Spas cleanliness and image are in line with agreed standards and are reviewed with key staff regularly.
- Attend to guests in both the relaxation and waiting areas ensuring that they are comfortable as well as offering refreshments.
- Maintain a sound knowledge of all treatments, packages and any promotions, cross-selling other products & services in the spa to maximise the potential of all sales.
- Perform all fitness activities to an exceptional standard, as per the Forbes standards.
- To supervise and conduct the safety of users and equipment and ensure that the Health and Safety Policy and procedures are implemented, monitored and adhered to in particular with relation to cleanliness and hygiene.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
- Must be eligible to live and work within the UK.
- Must be able to demonstrate a professional manner at all times, particularly with regard to interactions with guests and fellow associates.
- Must have strong personal management skills.
- Must be willing to adhere to immaculate grooming policy and strict uniform standards.
- Communicate effectively and clearly, using positive speech and body language at every opportunity.
- Previous experience within a Spa or leisure environment is essential.
- A strong desire to work within the hospitality/leisure industry is essential.
- Fitness and Personal Training qualifications are essential.
