Civil engineers support the planning, design, building, management, maintenance or dismantling of buildings, structures, and infrastructure. They will use and apply engineering principles and techniques, carry out calculations and data analysis, prepare and produce sketches and diagrams. Duties for this typically include: Support civil engineering projects by creating and modifying engineering diagrams, documents, and specifications, following industry standards. Assist in developing engineering solutions by collecting and analysing technical data and using digital tools like CAD/BIM/REVIT Prioritise safety by adhering to health and safety guidelines, identifying and mitigating risks. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including environmental and sustainability measures. Manage project quality, budget, and targets using available systems while maintaining data security. Communicate effectively with project teams, customers, and stakeholders. Work both independently and as part of a team, taking responsibility for tasks. Promote equality, diversity, and ethical standards. Continuously learn and develop skills in line with professional codes and industry standards. Typical Working Week 40 hours p/w with start time typically between 07:00 & 08:00 inclusive of 8 hours at college. Person Specification Proactive approach, taking pride in their work and taking accountability for decisions. A love of variety in a role and ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced working environment Ability to quickly prioritise tasks and the initiative to dive head-first into problem solving No two days are the same on the front line and not every day goes to plan, so youll need to be quick on your feet to respond Excellent communication and collaboration skills and enjoy working with multiple teams Ability to analyse and interpret information and effectively communicate this to different team members and audiences Ability to visit different sites and training days Curiosity to learn quickly in a reactive and dynamic working environment. Ability to work in all weather conditions to serve our customers and protect the environment Able to understand and follow health and safety protocols Qualifications required/desirable Minimum Requirements English and Maths at GCSE Grade 4 or above, or Functional Skills at Level 2 or above. Must be willing to travel in and around the Thames Valley region (Between Oxford and Reading) Desired Requirements It will be an advantage if you have some previous related work experience or completed a Level 2 Engineering qualification. Key Training/College Information K10 will enrol you to the Level 3 Civil Engineering course and fund your qualifications through an accredited training provider. The apprenticeship duration is 36 months.
