The successful applicant will assist with a growing workload. Working within in a small team predominantly preparing and submitting financial statements for a variety of different businesses ranging from sole traders to limited companies and Charitie and Social Enterprises. They will also ideally have at least two years' practice experience, excellent organisational skills, and an enthusiastic attitude towards work. Position Overview The successful candidates duties will involve (but not limited to): Accounts preparation and finalisation for Limited Companies, Sole Traders, Partnerships, Charities and Social Enterprises. Overseeing a juniors work on sole trader, partnership accounts and tax returns Corporate, Personal and Partnership Tax Computations and Returns Assisting and completing client Bookkeeping and reconciliations Accruals and prepayments Draw up management accounts for clients Calculation and posting of journals Company Secretarial Work, such as filing confirmation statements and ensure compliance Work from clients sites, as well as the office (and occasionally from home) Preparing, Overseeing and filing VAT Clients and ensuring clients are MTD for VAT compliant Liaising and meeting with clients on a regular basis regarding their Accounts, Tax and other related work Dealing with HMRC Training and supervising less senior staff and reviewing their work Reporting to Managers Completing CPD requirements Completing Money Laundering and GDPR requirements Undertake any other duties, as requested This job description is a guide to the work you will initially be required to undertake. Required Skills and Experience: Experience: Minimum of two years' experience within a UK accountancy practice; Qualifications: AAT (level 4) qualified as a minimum (or working towards ACCA/ACA/ICEAW/IFA qualified (or equivalent); Software Proficiency: Strong skills in Excel, QuickBooks and other accounting software; Communication & Clients skills: Ability to build string relationship and explain financial matters clearly; Communication & Clients skills: Able to meet deadlines; Ambition & Drive: Someone who wants to progress and be part of a growing, entrepreneurial team; Ambition & Drive: Ability to work on own initiative and with minimal supervision. Desired Skills: We are looking for a candidate: Have undertaken all the specific responsibilities above unaided successful for a number of years. with experience in incomplete records accounts preparation; who has a passion for accounting; who has an understanding and knowledge of accounting techniques; who is able to communicate effectively on a one-to-one basis, in groups, through presentations and through formal reports and has strong interpersonal skills; who is motivated and enthusiastic; who has good communication skills – with the ability to communicate with people at various levels of knowledge face to face, over the telephone and in writing; who has good IT knowledge including Microsoft Excel and Word; who has excellent monitoring and record keeping skills; who has the ability to work with a diverse range of people; who has the ability to work alone and as part of a team; who is able to work efficiently under pressure; who has good Planning, organiSational and time management skills; who has a Professional attitude and appearance; who is excellent at meeting targets and deadlines; Full UK driving license (as you will be required to travel to clients premises).
