Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Bristol


Overview: We are seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a dynamic site maintenance team in Bristol. This role is essential for maintaining and repairing the site's sortation systems, playing a key part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of this busy logistics hub.


About the role:

This position is part of a forward-thinking logistics operation, delivering innovative solutions in supply chain and sortation systems. The maintenance team plays a critical role in ensuring seamless operations, with safety, efficiency, and collaboration at its core.

This is working a 4-on, 4-off rotational shifts: Alternating between days (06:00 to 17:40) and nights (17:30 to 05:10).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct planned maintenance on the site sortation system, adhering to schedules and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently across the sortation system and the wider site.
  • Respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance with urgency, maintaining high standards.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in machinery and processes.
  • Complete repair and enhancement tasks on site equipment, plant, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of work, downtime, and technical issues using the CMMS system.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to other shifts and escalate unresolved issues to management.

  • Technical Knowledge: Ability to diagnose faults and implement solutions across complex systems.
  • CMMS Proficiency: Familiarity with maintenance management systems to log and track work.
  • Teamwork: Collaborative and proactive approach to ensure operational excellence.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable with shift work and ready to contribute to a fast-paced environment
