Our environmental planning team focuses on the delivery of environmental assessments to support local plan-making as well as projects seeking planning permission. We work with a range of clients from across the private and public sectors. We specialise in Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment, Habitats Regulations Assessment (including nutrient neutrality assessment) and Environmental Impact Assessment.We are seeking an enthusiastic, senior environmental consultant with at least 3+ years professional experience in the private or public sector to strengthen the capacity and expertise within our friendly team. As part of a small and expanding team, the role offers a fantastic opportunity for personal growth and development with opportunities for hands-on roles at all stages of our projects. Key Responsibilities include:Undertaking site assessmentsContributing to high quality environmental assessment reportsDay to day client liaison Liaising with project team members and attending client and stakeholder meetingsProviding technical guidance and support to junior team membersContributing to business development activities, including bid-writingRequirementsQualified to degree level or equivalent in environmental science or a related disciplineAn MSc in a relevant subject would be highly beneficialThorough knowledge and practical experience of at least one environmental assessment regime - SEA, HRA or EIADemonstrable track record in producing high quality written reports suitable for public consultationMembership/Chartership within the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) or similar professional institute is essentialAbility to communicate effectively and appropriately to internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and through written communicationExcellent organisation skillsNumeric literacy, and good capability with common computer applicationsDesired ExperienceUse of GIS software, particularly ArcGISWorking with a range of environmental disciplinesBusiness development in the environmental sector, bid preparation and salesWe Offer:Developing leadership skills in a growing teamOpportunity to demonstrate and develop your business development skillsISEP membership and dedicated personal development budgetSalary range: £27K – £45k, commensurate with experienceContributory pensionOptional private health care and mental health first aider on staffFlexible / hybrid working and 31 days annual leaveEstablished TOIL system
