Your expertise will ensure systems are operationally effective safe and mission-ready directly influencing how naval operations are executed.Day-to-day youll work with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate operational knowledge into engineering solutions define technical requirements guide development and trials and provide authoritative advice on regulatory safety and integration challenges. Youll also help shape the roadmap for future autonomous warfare capabilities.Your responsibilities will include:Lead the integration of operational expertise into autonomous system designSupport IDT Programme leads in delivering rapid-deployment naval capabilitiesTranslate operational needs into technical requirements for complex projectsDevelop and oversee trials and experimentation to validate system performanceProvide guidance on regulatory safety and integration challengesMentor and inspire the engineering teamEssential experience of the Principal Warfare Capability Engineer:Domain SME experience in Underwater warfareKnowledge of Autonomy C2 and human-machine interactionAwareness of Royal Navy Maritime Autonomous Systems strategyExperience developing trials and experimentation plansEssential qualifications for the Principal Warfare Capability Engineer:Bachelors degree in a relevant engineering scientific or technical disciplineDemonstrable experience in defence systems engineering or warfare capability deliveryWe value difference and we dont have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education; provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.This role is full-time per week based at Portsdown Technology Park (PTP) Portsmouth.
