HGV Class 1 driver required. My client is a leading provider of crane hire based in the North West and they are currently looking for a class one driver to work out of their Widnes depot. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and the relevant qualifications. The candidate must be within a commutable distance of Widnes and it would be advantageous to have past experience in heavy haulage.

This role requires an HGV class 1 licence

HGV Class 1 Driver Position Overview

  • Ensure materials are loaded and unloaded safely, securely, and in compliance with regulations
  • Perform daily checks and routine maintenance on the vehicle to ensure it remains in good working condition.
  • Adhere to all company health and safety regulations
  • Loading and unloading cargo including plant and ballast for the cranes
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and records accurately and timely.
  • Assist with other site duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented attitude
  • Good planning skills to plan your route and day efficiently
  • With this role there will be the need to stay out some nights but this will be paid for.

HGV Class 1 Driver Position Requirements

  • Class 1 licence essential
  • 2 years minimum experience driving class 1 vehicles
  • Previous experience in a similar role beneficial
  • Strong communication and organisational
  • CPC Card essential
  • Good time keeping
  • Must be willing to work a minimum of 2 Saturdays a month
  • Flexibility within the hours of the role and occasional stay away

HGV Class 1 Driver Position Remuneration

  • £16-£17 an hour
  • 10-hour day (8:00-6:00)
  • 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays
  • Over time available
  • Pension
