Position Overview

The successful candidate will be a key member of the schools Art and Design department responsible for delivering a comprehensive and engaging curriculum to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role entails fostering a dynamic and inspiring learning environment that encourages artistic expression critical thinking and a lifelong appreciation for the visual arts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver stimulating Art and Design lessons that align with the national curriculum and the schools educational ethos.
  • Create a vibrant and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement experimentation and creative exploration.
  • Assess and monitor student progress providing constructive feedback to facilitate individual artistic growth.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Art and Design department and across the school to enrich the learning experience.
  • Stay abreast of current pedagogical approaches and developments in art education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelors degree or higher in Art Art Education or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Art and Design at the secondary level.
