Building Safety Surveyor Location:London or Birmingham (Hybrid) Salary:£55,000£65,000 + benefits Employment Type:Permanent Are you passionate about building safety, compliance, and the built environment? Were recruiting a Building Safety Surveyor to join a growing consultancy team supporting clients in meeting their obligations under the Building Safety Act and wider regulatory framework. In this role, youll play a key part in demonstrating the safety and compliance of buildingshelping clients manage risk, maintain statutory compliance, and ensure the health, safety and welfare of occupants. Youll work across audits, inspections, safety case reviews, design assessments and stakeholder engagement. The RoleAs a Building Safety Surveyor, you will: Support clients in meeting duties under the Building Regulations 2010 (as amended) and the Building Safety Act 2022.Assist with building regulation audits, compliance appraisals and site inspections.Review design information, surveys, and inspection reports to assess compliance.Conduct gap analyses and identify missing documentation required for Safety Case Reports and Gateway submissions.Provide advice on compliance, quality assurance and best practice.Facilitate internal/external workshops on Building Safety Risk Assessments.Work closely with stakeholders including clients, contractors, designers, and regulatory bodies.Support the Principal Designer (Building Regulations) function in line with company processes.Deliver a wide range of building safety consultancy tasks within agreed scopes and deadlines.About YouYou will be a detail-driven safety professional with a strong understanding of building safety legislation and a passion for improving compliance and governance across complex estates. Essential Skills & ExperienceStrong working knowledge of: Building Safety Act 2022Fire Safety Order 2005Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022Experience developing Safety Case Reports and applying Golden Thread principles.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Ability to identify, analyse and resolve compliance issues.Commercial awareness and strong organisational skills.Willingness to visit sites as required.QualificationsDegree-level qualification or Level 4 Diploma in a building safety-related discipline (or equivalent).Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body (CIBSE, RICS, CIOB, IFE, IFSM etc.).Demonstrable Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Behaviours (SKEB).Whats on Offer£50,000£60,000 depending on experience28 days annual leave + bank holidaysPension schemeHybrid working (3 days office/site)Career development and ongoing professional supportOffice base: London EC1 or BirminghamHow to Apply If youre an experienced Building Safety Surveyor looking to make a real impact, wed love to hear from you.
