The Burren is a brand-new purpose-built service location South Bristol, providing high quality care & supporting residents with varying complex neurological, mental health & dementia care needs provided in a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole persons unique strengths and challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. What do you need? Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a ChefMinimum of 2 years experience in a Care Home settingUnderstanding of COSHH, Food Hygiene and Regulations surrounding food safetyIDDSI/Specialist diet provision experience (desirable)Experience working in a care home (desirable)Effective communication skills both written and verbalWhat hours will you work? Shifts: 08:00 until 18:00 Pay rate / Salary £16.37ph What will you be doing? Responsible for running the Kitchen and line managing the Second Chef and 2 Kitchen AssistantsBuilding and preparing menus and ensuring we are providing a good variety of meals, whilst ensuring dietary requirements are metWork within the services budget and utilize the most cost-effective solutions whilst not compromising on quality of food and serviceEnsure all working practice and the kitchen management is operating in line with Health & Safety, Infection Prevention & Control, Food Hygiene Standards and COSHHEnsure food is prepared in line with IDDSI guidelines and meets the requirements of the residents as identified by the clinical teamOrder food and manage orders to ensure there is sufficient stockCooperate with the implementation, evaluation, orientation and induction of all new employeesManage the kitchen rota to ensure there is suitable cover at all times, whilst working in line with agreed staffing levelsAttend regular site meetings an provide updates as and when requiredBenefits package worth up to £5,000 Subsidised lunch available dailyFree DBS and parkingFull range of courses provided by the company, including NAPPI trainingPaid for e-learning and trainingRefer a friend scheme – up to £1,000 (depending on role)Cycle to work schemeHealthcare cash plan worth up to £700* which includes dental and optical benefits alongside otherAccess to Blue Light card - over 13,000 discounts*subject to terms and conditionsCare Home / Healthcare / Elderly Care / Nursing Home / Dementia / Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef / Head Cook / Lead Chef / Catering / Baker / Full TimeAbout The CompanyCornerstone Healthcare provide specialist care for vulnerable people who present with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurodegenerative and mental health needs.Residents who live in our homes primarily have a neurological degenerative condition such as Dementia with an underlying mental health condition which makes them inappropriate candidates for dementia care homes or residential care homes for the elderly.We currently have 3 services based in Waterlooville, Curdridge, & Mytchett with 2 new services set to open in Bristol and Birmingham in 2025.
