We are looking for a Fire Safety Joiner to join the Building Safety Team in this new role. As a Fire Safety Joiner you will provide all types of fire safety joinery repairs, to tenanted and vacant properties, within a customer service quality driven repair and maintenance service. You will be covering the South Yorkshire, Calderdale, and Lancashire area.

This is a temporary position for a duration of 4 months with possibility of extension.

Requirements

Outline of Key responsibilities of the Fire Safety Joiner...

  • To carry out all types of Fire safety Joinery repairs to both tenanted and vacant properties as per job tickets, specifications and contract drawings
  • Ensure repairs are completed with high quality workmanship and meet relevant building regulations and standards
  • Organize work efficiently to minimize lost or non-productive time and proactively communicate any workload issues
  • Participate in overtime, stand-by, and call-out shift schedule as needed
  • Use initiative to diagnose and undertake repairs that may deviate from original requirements, obtaining necessary approvals
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure efficient use of time, materials, and resources

We are looking for someone who has...

  • Full UK manual drivers license and own vehicle
  • Experience in joinery along with other relevant building disciplines
  • Relevant qualification and experience, such as City and Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate in Carpentry & Joinery
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to complete repairs efficiently and in one visit whenever possible

  • Hourly rate: £19-23p/h
  • Additional earnings from the call-out rota
  • 43p per mile
  • 27 days annual leave (rising to 32 over 5 years' service) + bank holidays
