Our clients are an Accountancy practice seeking to become a Top 25 in the near future. Due to expansion plans they are seeking to appoint a Senior Corporate Tax Manager who has excellent experience within an Accountancy Practice.

The Role:
  1. Running tax advisory assignments.
  2. Supporting Directors on more complex assignments.
  3. Complete complicated client tax returns.
  4. Manage and service clients within own portfolio.
  5. Be available to provide technical advice to the team and/or clients.
  6. Responsibility for departmental initiatives, processes and projects whilst continuing to oversee supervision, training and development of the team.
  7. Liaise and communicate with other departments, clients and directors to generate business leads.
  8. Actively support the Tax Associate/Director(s).
  9. Work with and support the non-Tax Managers and Directors.
  10. Maintain the highest level of technical competence and apply in response to client needs.
  11. Support the Tax Director(s) with marketing initiatives and provide content.
  12. Identify cross selling opportunities through networking, attending client functions and seminars.
  13. Involvement in the tax team financials with the senior members of the tax team; chargeable time, recoveries and billings.
General Responsibilities:
  1. Involvement in departmental initiatives, processes and projects whilst continuing responsibility for supervision, training and development of the team.
  2. Liaise and communicate with other departments, clients and directors.
  3. Identify cross selling opportunities.
  4. Support the Tax Director(s).
  5. Work with and support the non-Tax Managers and Directors.
  6. Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge by attending the necessary courses, webinars and completing the appropriate professional reading.
  7. Involvement in the tax team financials with the senior members of the tax team; chargeable time, recoveries and billings.
  8. Complete or oversee complicated client tax returns.
  9. Mentoring and supporting Tax Manager(s).
Skills & Abilities:
  1. Identify training needs of the team and coach, supervise and support.
  2. Oversee workload of team and provide feedback on performance and development.
  3. Ensures technical knowledge is up-to-date and seeks expert advice when required.
  4. Maintains excellent relationships by communicating effectively at all levels with colleagues and clients.
  5. Use tact and diplomacy to deal with difficult situations with clients and colleagues.
  6. Able to complete technical research for Directors and provide summary information on findings.
  7. Plans time effectively and completes timesheets by the required deadline.
  8. Outstanding delegation skills.
  9. Understands client needs and provides relevant advice.
  10. Aware of work pressures, peaks and troughs.
  11. Undertake CPD in accordance with Institute/company requirements and maintain up-to-date CPD record.
  12. Maintains high professional standards of conduct and practice.
Knowledge & Experience:
  1. Qualified ATT and/or CTA - minimum 8 years relevant tax experience.
  2. No ATT Qualification – minimum 10 years relevant tax experience.
  3. On-the-job experience in corporate tax advisory matters including restructuring, tax due diligence, corporate tax compliance.
  4. Preferable, not essential: experience with EIS, EMI options, R&D Tax credits.
