We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated and skilled Business & Events Events Lecturer.We offer great benefits including;10 weeks leave per year, plus bank holidays pro rata.Generous employer pension contributionRegular training and developmentDuties:Classroom teaching, tutorial work and associated outreach duties, residential, open and distance learning courses and student placementsAll associated organisational and administrative work, preparation and marking and appropriate student welfare and academic counselling responsibilities;Acting as a Personal Tutor to students as required and undertaking all of the associated duties including pastoral care support.Making a full contribution to the team approach to learning and teaching.Implementing a student-centred negotiated learning programme in accordance with the College’s curriculum framework.Implementing agreed induction procedures and processes for students.Ensuring that students are informed of what is expected of them at every stage of their programme and that an awareness of what the programme involves is a feature of all reviews undertaken with students.Ensuring that appropriate assignments, tasks and activities are regularly set and assessed and that feedback is given to students in ways that will allow them to develop and achieve progression.Contributing to the organisation of and ensure that there are appropriate work placements.Skills/Experience:Adaptable and flexible in approachInnovative and creative approach to workCommitment to ongoing learning and professional developmentOpen minded to the cultures, views and experiences of others and values diversityHighly motivated professional with a range of industry experience and knowledgeGood working knowledge of IT tools (ECDL or equivalent level)Qualifications:Minimum GCSE grade 4 / C in English & Maths or equivalent.Level 4 qualification in the relevant area of expertise (or commitment to achieving this in the required timeframe)Level 5 Teaching qualification (or commitment to achieving this in the required timeframe)Ideal Attributes:Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all ages and levelsAbility to prioritise and meet deadlines within a busy environment About UsThe South Hampshire College Group (SHCG) is a dynamic, purpose driven Further Education organisation with a commitment to Creating Better Futures for learners, employers and communities within South Hampshire and beyond.We pride ourselves on living our values - Collaborative, Inclusive and Aspirational.
