About the SEN Unit:

The SEN Unit is a dedicated space within the school designed to provide tailored support for children with complex learning needs, including autism (ASD), speech and language difficulties, and sensory challenges. The unit fosters a nurturing and structured environment, ensuring that every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • 1:1 and Group Support: Provide targeted support for pupils as an SEN Teaching Assistant in the SEN Unit, adapting learning materials and strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage Development: Promote positive behaviour, social skills, and independence through engaging activities.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
