Data Scraping Specialist

I am currently working with one of our technology and data driven, global investment management clients who are looking to add a Data Scraping Specialist to their London data team who work closely with trading and research functions.


The ideal background would be a talented software/data engineer, with strong web scraping and data integration experience. Buy side, or financial services experience is a big plus.


Responsibilities:

  • Your core objective is to develop and maintain web scraping tools to build datasets for research and trading
  • Manage multiple and extensive dataset used in the research and trading platform used by the investment teams
  • Supporting trading and research users (Traders & Quants)
  • Work with the integration team to integrate datasets from internal or external providers
  • Monitoring fetching processes and data health


Required Skills:

  • 2+ years experience in web scraping (building web crawlers)
  • Good working knowledge of python - polyglot developers ideally
  • Software engineering best practices
  • Structured and unstructured data management expertise is a plus
  • Understanding testing within continuous delivery and integration pipelines
  • Knowledge of the financial data of equity/derivatives is a plus
  • Advanced English, both written and verbal communication skills
  • Capacity to work with autonomy within a global team
