Who’s the business
Zanda is partnering with a startup e-commerce / FMCG brand in Manchester as it looks for a fractional finance leader to initially appraise the financial operations of the business before leading on building the right finance platform to enable the business to scale.
With a direct to consumer business model, the business has established a solid brand and customer base with good retention, and now looking for a fractional finance leader to join their team with prior experience ideally working within e-commerce, FMCG, manufacturing or other general D2C facing industries.
The successful candidate will initially work with the Founder and CEO for 1 or 2 days a week. You will be responsible for establishing an in-house finance function that provides monthly management packs, financial reporting and commercial support across P&L management, cashflow forecasting, financial models and potentially support future fundraising efforts.
What experiences will you gain
- Establish and ensure continual development of finance and operational systems, reporting, management packs, and KPIs.
- Responsibility for the management of the company finances, ensuring the continual development of the finance structure to meet the changing demands of the scaling business.
- Member of the Senior Management Team.
- Monitor performance against company targets and drive profitability.
- Act as business partner to various internal stakeholders to help drive margins and profitability.
- The provision of value adding financial information and KPIS to stakeholders and Investors.
- Provide decision support and financial advice on key projects/initiatives.
- Critically assess and analyse product sales, promotions, supplier costs, pricing, etc.
- Management of annual budgeting and forecasting throughout the year.
- Preparation of annual and long-term financial plans, aligned to strategic objectives.
What background should you have before you press apply
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent with experience in e-commerce, FMCG, manufacturing or other general D2C facing industries.
- Experience of establishing an in-house finance function.
- Strong commercial acumen and business partnering skills.
- Ability to think creatively and innovatively in relation to problem solving.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to access their South Manchester office at least once a week.
