Key Responsibilities:


  • Reporting directly to the Department Director.
  • Managing all aspects of Public Law work, including providing technical expertise and guidance.
  • Supervising Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors, and Caseworkers.
  • Assisting with training and development within the department.
  • Handling a diverse range of Public Law cases, including unlawful detention, false imprisonment, and asylum support.
  • Preparing and managing funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency.
  • Drafting documents, processing evidence, and attending conferences and court.



Skills and Experience Required:


  • Law Society Immigration Accreditation.
  • A clean, valid Practising Certificate.
  • Strong management skills and previous supervisory experience.
  • Commitment to providing excellent client service.
  • Ability to handle sensitive client matters and resolve complex Public Law issues.
  • Excellent networking and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Legal Aid Guidance for Public Law matters.
  • Extensive experience in Public Law-related work.
  • Advocacy experience is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management.
