DescriptionThe Service & Team:Were part of Cornwall Councils Customer and Corporate Services Directorate. Our job is to make sure the Council collects the money its owed and provide financial support to those who need it. We help people pay their Council Tax and Business Rates and we assess claims for Housing Benefit Council Tax Support and other schemes. The Assessment Billing and Collection Team is at the heart of this work. We make sure bills for Council Tax and Business Rates are accurate payments are collected fairly and support is given where its needed. As part of our commitment to continuous improvement were always looking for new ways to use data and technology to make our services even better.The Role:As an apprentice in our team youll learn while you work. Your main focus will be helping us manage Council Tax payments. Youll be doing this by speaking to customers updating records and making decisions about discounts and exemptions. Youll also help with tracing people who owe money and support our recovery actions. Youll be part of a team that values fairness accuracy and great customer service.This is a public/customer-facing role where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.Working Pattern:This is a full-time apprenticeship with flexible working options including flexitime and potential for hybrid working.
