We are looking for an experienced Data & AI Director / Practice Lead to join our team in Edinburgh on a full-time basis. You will play a pivotal role as a member of the Data & AI Leadership team with full responsibility for managing our rapidly growing team of data consultants.

You would work closely with the Data & AI Team Leads to drive adoption of technical solutions and standards and establish best practices for documentation and support whilst working alongside the internal sales team on pre-sale opportunities.

You will be contributing towards setting the technical strategy and direction for our Data & AI clients, therefore you will be expected to stay abreast of relevant technical solutions and services and how these can be deployed to our clients. Quorum’s core capabilities include Consultancy, Project and Professional Services, and Managed Services. We specialise in Microsoft’s Modern Workplace, Azure Cloud Adoption and Cloud Migration, Data Platform, Security and Identity and Cloud Application Development. The Role:

  • Oversee and coordinate the daily operational activities of the data team
  • Coaching, leading, developing, supporting and line managing a team of senior consultants (team leads) and engineers who are themselves responsible for delivering projects and support escalation for a broad range of clients
  • Overall responsibility for resource management of the data team. Ability to prioritise and ensure work is delivered against competing priorities, working with the team leads to resolve resource conflicts
  • Line management of the Data and AI Team consultants
  • Coach the individuals to develop their presales and consulting skills, calling on the experience from the wider team leads / Quorum
  • Help the team grow in technical and consulting experience through appropriate training and project exposure
  • Ensure appropriate time recording for each individual in line with utilisation targets
  • Ensuring 3rd level support escalation is provided across the full range of data services
  • Line management approvals within internal systems - holidays, OT, on-call, sickness etc
  • Ensure that all team members are informed about important updates, decisions, and organisational changes
  • Scheduling - Working with the Sales team, and the Project Management Office to resource and schedule upcoming project work
  • Working with Quorum’s Head of Service Delivery to help develop and maintain a continuous service improvement plan for Quorum’s data-managed service customers
  • Work closely with the Data and AI Director to ensure that operational plans support strategic objectives
  • Recruitment and skills development - Work with the Data and AI Team Leads to identify and plan for recruitment and skills development within the team
  • Responsible for working with the Data and AI Team Leads to drive the adoption of technical solutions and standards, develop new service offerings, and establish best practices for documentation and support
  • Lead Data and AI projects, potentially calling on resources from the wider pool of Data and AI consultants and the wider Quorum in virtual project teams. Ensuring that best practices are followed, including documentation and support processes for solutions
  • Working with Quorum’s Sales team to assist with tender responses and pre-sales activities and identifying opportunities for growth within our existing clients
  • Foster a collaborative and efficient team environment, aligning staff with company goals and projects
