NLB Solutions are working with a financial services business in the search for a new Reconciliations Manager for our client. The Reconciliations Manager will be responsible for internal client money reconciliations, financial reporting to our client companies, CASS operational oversight of client money accounts and the associated processes and financial controls. the role requires management of the reconciliations team to control and manage day to day client money activities. The client is looking for someone that is able to drive through improvements, projects and efficiencies in respect of all finance processes and controls. This role takes on responsibility for ensuring systems fully support clients and regulators in respect of financial processes. You will also ensure all relevant regulatory requirements are met including the FCA’s Conduct Rules and Principles.

Duties:

  • Ensure that all client money positions are tracked and reconciled on a daily basis.
  • Ensure 'CASS rules’ are adhered to.
  • Ensure that that all processing anomalies are reconciled and cleared down to zero on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that the administration systems have a full audit trail of all financial transactions.
  • Ensure that there are adequate processes and controls in place to ensure financial positions are accurate across the administration system and bank accounts.
  • Ensure that the administration system has financial processes that automatically track incomplete and incorrect transactions which reduces the dependency on manual reconciliations and corrective action.
  • Ensure that the financial controls in place for client money are strong enough to avoid fraudulent activity and processing error.
  • Act as cheque, transfer and online banking authoriser ensuring efficient quality checking is in place.
  • To provide technical guidance and support to both the Reconciliations and Technical and Dealing Teams and act as a Subject Matter Expert on Reconciliations and Client Accounts to support the wider business.
  • To liaise with and maintain strong client relationships with finance counterparts.
  • Identify and deliver efficiencies within the Finance department, both in automation and streamlining of processes.
  • Participate in business projects as required.
  • Ensure the Reconciliations team are adhering to BACS processing rules.

Person Spec:

  • Experienced accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Expertise in understanding and applying the concepts of information technology solutions and accounting
  • Experience operating/managing Client Money Accounts in accordance with the rules set out in the FCA’s Client Assets sourcebook.
  • Proven people management experience within a finance area
  • Experience of implementing change and business improvement projects
  • Demonstrate experience in representing finance on system related issues and projects.
  • Show the ability to work within a team and develop positive relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues
  • Possess strong Excel and data manipulation skills
  • Good inter-personal, organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work, at times, in a pressurised and fast moving environment
  • Ability to adapt to change with a flexible approach
