Wayman Education is looking for a Year 6 teacher in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, East of England This is an opportunity to work within an Outstanding primary school in East of England. The school is looking to appoint a class teacher who will enjoy teaching an academic yet creative, topic-based curriculum in a school with exceptional pastoral care.

Responsibilities of a Year 6 teacher:

  • As a Year 6 teacher you will be responsible for the pastoral care of children taking their first steps in Key Stage 2, promoting teamwork, and cultivating a conducive learning environment
  • Teaching the Key Stage 2 curriculum to groups of children while also focusing on each individual child's learning targets, encouraging their strengths, and improving their weaknesses
  • Further developing maths ability and introducing fractions, statistics, and geometry
  • Help children develop their writing ability by creating plots, characters, and settings for stories
  • Keeping track of children's progress and occasionally reporting back to parents

Year 6 Teacher requirements:

  • QTS, PGCE and strong academic record
  • Creative, imaginative, determined, resourceful and adaptable practitioner
  • Passionate about learning
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of success within a Year 6 environment
  • Able to communicate your passion to children and parents
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding practice in the classroom
